Get set to get motivated. After 30 years of hosting a weekly series on Georgia's PBS television network, few people offered more memorable interviews than the founder of Home Depot, Bernie Marcus.

What struck me was how deep an impact a mid-career setback was to the way he approached launching Home Depot. Today, Home Depot is the world's second-largest retailer, but when they opened their doors in 1978, success was by no means assured.
